This study investigates the purification and characterization of gellan gum (GG) for use in ocular drug delivery systems. Different GG fractions were obtained and analyzed for their molecular properties and mucoadhesive behavior. The results demonstrated that GG formulations can effectively adhere to the ocular surface and improve drug retention.DOI

Практическое значение
The findings support the use of gellan gum as a biocompatible polymeric carrier for eye medications. Enhanced retention of drugs on the ocular surface may improve treatment effectiveness, reduce dosing frequency, and increase patient comfort and compliance in topical ocular therapies.Квартиль
