Аннотация (краткое описание)
3D concrete printing is developing rapidly and is seen as an alternative to traditional construction methods. But today, the use of standard steel reinforcements and their integration into the concrete is very relevant for 3D concrete printing. The currently available measures provide the automated production of the reinforcement mesh but the concreting is manual, or automates both the creation of the reinforcement mesh and concreting but the integration of the reinforcement into the concrete is not sufficient to meet the requirements regarding strength and durability. To fill this gap, this study proposes a novel concept that automates the creation of reinforcement mesh and its integration into concrete during the 3D printing process. To verify the feasibility of the concept, tests were carried out: a mesh strength test according to DIN 488-4, an X-ray scanning test for the integration of the reinforcement mesh into concrete, and a cross-section cut test perpendicular to the printing direction and in line with the printing direction. The results show that the proposed concept is viable. © The Author(s) 2025. This article is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. Практическое значение
The practical significance of this study lies in improving the structural performance and reliability of 3D concrete printing by enabling the automated integration of steel reinforcement during the printing process. The proposed concept addresses a critical limitation of existing additive construction technologies, where reinforcement is either manually installed or insufficiently integrated into the printed concrete, leading to reduced strength and durability. By automating both the fabrication of reinforcement mesh and its incorporation into the concrete matrix, the developed approach enhances the mechanical properties of printed structures and ensures better load-bearing capacity. This contributes to the production of safer, more durable, and more reliable concrete elements compared to conventional 3D printing methods. The experimental validation, including mesh strength testing (DIN 488-4), X-ray scanning, and cross-sectional analysis, confirms the feasibility of the proposed system and demonstrates proper bonding and distribution of reinforcement within the concrete. From a practical standpoint, this technology can be applied in the construction industry for automated building of structural elements, reducing manual labor, construction time, and material waste. It also supports the development of fully automated construction systems, improving efficiency and enabling wider adoption of 3D concrete printing in modern infrastructure projects.Квартиль
